New EP, Out Here In It, Out Now

Country music legend and philanthropist Tracy Lawrence is bringing extra excitement to CMA Fest today with the release of his new EP Out Here In It, his first body of work in three years. The six-track collection features cuts from some of Nashville’s hottest songwriters including Rodney Clawson, Devin Dawson, Jacob Durrett, Wyatt McCubbin, Lee Thomas Miller, Ernest Keith Smith and more. CMT partnered with Lawrence to premiere the official music video for track No. 2, “I Could Use One,” on CMT, CMT Music, CMT Equal Play and the Paramount Times Square Billboard. Listen to the EP HERE.

“I thoroughly enjoy actively participating in the songwriting process for my music projects,” shares Lawrence.  “However for this specific EP, I had the incredible opportunity to fully embrace the exploration and discovery of songs from the Nashville community, which I believe to be a pool of the most gifted modern-day American poets that exists.  And that creative community brought in a treasure trove of remarkable songs to work with.”

Lawrence first started giving fans tastes of the EP in February with the release of the title track “Out Here In It,” which takes listeners on a retrospective journey through the “strings-and-steel embellished production” that “perfectly underscores his meditation” (MusicRow). He then followed one month later, releasing “Gulf of Mexico,” a sandy shores ballad that offers a neon lit, slow dance spin to the center of the EP. His final early taste, “Pretty Dang Good,” opens the EP as a flash of sound that instantly stamps this as a new chapter for the “Country music luminary” (American Songwriter). Whiskey Riff debuted the video with an exclusive interview, where Lawrence shared, “I haven’t done a lot of songs like this throughout my career. I’ve always been more of a serious artist, heartbreak songs, crying in your beer kind of stuff. So this will be something a little bit different.”

The EP includes three brand new tracks for fans – “I Could Use One” is led by a cry of fiddle surrounding the soft, waltz-infused pace as Lawrence weaves his distinctive vocal atop the melody in such uniqueness that it presents a new flavor to his Texas dancehall flare. “A Cowboy Would” sees Lawrence delving fully into the familiarity of his signature sound through what can best be described as a classic Tracy Lawrence song. Bookending the EP, “Honky Tonk Up” delivers a rallying cry for the blue-collar workers. Providing them with an anthem, Lawrence extends an open invitation for them to come along with him to a backroad haven.

“This particular track is a personal favorite from the EP,” adds Lawrence. “Strangely enough, it evokes a nostalgic feeling reminiscent of ‘Time Marches On.’ I struggle to pinpoint the exact reason behind this connection, there’s an undeniable similarity that resonates within me.”

Out Here In It Tracklist:
1.     “Pretty Dang Good” (Wyatt McCubbin, Bobby Pinson, Carson Chamberlain)
2.     “I Could Use One” (Brent Rupard, Brad Hutsell, Kyle James, Anthony Olympia)
3.     “A Cowboy Would” (Jacob Durrett, Ernest Keith Smith, Devin Dawson, Rodney Clawson)
4.     “Gulf of Mexico” (Monty Criswell, Derek George, Bubba Strait)
5.     “Out Here In It” (Trey Lewis, Lee Thomas Miller, Chris Utley)
6.     “Honky Tonk Up” (Monty Criswell, Derek George, Thomas Archer)

New Song, “Gulf of Mexico”, Out Now

Tracy Lawrence unveils the next track off his forthcoming EP, Out Here In It, with the soulful heartbreak Country ballad “Gulf of Mexico.” Listen HERE. Tracy brings his signature sound to the forefront in the second release off his carefully crafted six-song EP, due Friday, June 7. Presave/add HERE.

“I love a good ballad,” shares Lawrence. “These kind of songs have always been some of my favorites to sing. When I heard Gulf of Mexico it was instantly a favorite that I had to record and put on the EP. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this song and like it as much as I do.”

Staying in the realm of his distinctively branded style, “Gulf of Mexico” offers a neon lit, slow dance spin to the center of the EP, providing a roadmap of the broken-hearted, runaway places that Lawrence has searched for to mend his fractured heart. Engulfed in traditional led instrumentation that adds proper feels to the heartache emotions of Lawrence’s powerful vocal, listeners travel the vices he’s examined at the bottom of every alcohol-filled glass inside any bar he could find. Penned by Monty Criswell, Derek George and Bubba Strait, the track tugs heartstrings when Lawrence confesses that no matter how far he tries to run away from her and drown out the memory of what they used to share, she’s still in full ownership of his heart.

In addition to the song, a new music video was also released! Set against the backdrop of the Gulf’s rolling blue ocean waves, Lawrence’s spotlight puts his smooth, steady vocals on display as he sings through the soul-searching emotions heartbreak brings to the forefront. Watch HERE

OUT NOW: TRACY LAWRENCE’S COMMEMORATIVE ALBUM: LIVE AT BILLY BOB’S TEXAS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –  Country mainstay Tracy Lawrence is celebrating his three-decade-long career with a commemorative Live at Billy Bob’s Texas album, available everywhere today. Filmed back in October 2022 at the World’s Largest Honky Tonk, his long-time fans can now listen along as if they were at the show, experiencing Lawrence’s biggest hits reimagined. The thunderous applause that opens the album sets the tone for the entire project, as you can hear the rowdy audience singing along to every classic lyric. The 18-song project highlights Lawrence’s staying power and how his traditional Country style has resonated with generations of fans.

LISTEN TO LIVE AT BILLY BOB’S TEXAS

“This live recording is a great way to celebrate the fans and the moments we’ve shared on stage over the years,” shares Lawrence. “Being able to come back time and time again to Billy Bob’s and feel the passion of the Texas crowd is always a treat for me and the band.”

Highlights of the setlist include some of his biggest songs like “Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” “Paint Me A Birmingham” and “Time Marches On” which shows their long-lasting effect on the Country genre. Lawrence’s delivery is seasoned yet vivacious, and as an added surprise, Lawrence puts his own spin on two of the genre’s all-time biggest songs “In Color” and “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” The former is tender and with Lawrence’s signature twang brings new depth to the timeless classic. The latter is an immediate show-stopper with an exhilarating fiddle and a fresh take on an iconic hit. The album then wraps up with two encore tracks, “I See It Now” and “Better Man, Better Off.”

Taking it back to his very first single and the title track of his debut album, “Sticks and Stones,” Lawrence reminisces about the past as he performs the song that started it all. Watch here.

The building that houses Billy Bob’s Texas was built in 1910 and was once a barn to house prized cattle for the Fort Worth Stock Show, it has housed an auction ring, livestock events, an airplane factory during WWII and even a department store. The venue/entertainment center officially opened in 1981 and for the past 42 years has been an iconic venue for Country music’s biggest acts to perform.

Although the Country icon has played the famous Fort Worth, Texas venue over 30 times, each performance continues to bring its own unique southern energy. Lawrence will take the same stage tonight, bringing his traditionalist twang and smash hits from the last 30 years to celebrate the release of this album.

Tracy Lawrence Live at Billy Bob’s Texas tracklisting:

  1. “Made In America”
  2. “Find Out Who Your Friends Are”
  3. “If The World Had A Front Porch”
  4. “As Any Fool Can See”
  5. “Stars Over Texas”
  6. “Don’t Drink Whiskey”
  7. “How A Cowgirl Says Goodbye”
  8. “Texas Tornado”
  9. “Nothing Burns Like You”
  10. “In Color”
  11. “Sticks And Stones”
  12. “Alibis”
  13. “Can’t Break It To My Heart”
  14. “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”

Tracy Lawrence Receives 2023 CRS Artist Humanitarian Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Country Radio Broadcasters have announced Tracy Lawrence as the recipient of the 2023 CRS Artist Humanitarian Award. This recognition follows the Country legend’s continued dedication to philanthropy and service through his charity Mission:Possible. Lawrence will receive his award alongside Brent Michaels, who is the recipient of the 2023 Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award. Both awards will be presented during the New Faces of Country Music® show on the evening of March 15, during CRS 2023.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude for being honored by the Country Radio Broadcasters,” shared Lawrence. “The success of Mission:Possible, each year surpassing our previous donation records, is nothing short of a blessing. Giving back has always been a calling for me and to be acknowledged for that by such a long-standing and respected organization is truly an honor.”
“We commend both Humanitarian Award winners for deep and personal commitments to their cause,” said Beverlee Brannigan, CRS/CRB Board member and Chairwoman of the CRS Awards Committee, about this year’s honorees. “Tracy Lawrence’s and Brent Michaels’ contributions go far beyond simply lending their names or influence. Each has devoted personal time, talents and resources over a significant period of time. The results of their initiatives have improved lives in their communities. We are beyond proud to recognize Tracy and Brent’s efforts at CRS 2023.”
Lawrence’s genuine spirit of compassion and philanthropy, while displaying a strong level of personal commitment towards addressing multiple aspects of homelessness, made him an obvious choice for this prestigious honor. Through his Mission:Possible platform, Lawrence has raised over $2M for charities committed to ending homelessness across Middle Tennessee. In the past year, he hand-delivered substantial funding to 14 separate organizations directly following his successful fundraising events. Lawrence’s annual Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert consistently features Country music’s hottest names and has served up an impressive 73,000 meals in the 17 years since he started the event. His newly-formed Mission:Possible Celebrity Golf Classic has raised $850,000 in its first two years, with Country stars and golf pros stepping up to play and support.
The CRB Artist Humanitarian Award was created in 1990 by the organization’s board, and honors a Country artist whose philanthropic efforts have significantly improved the effectiveness and impact of the causes they support. This individual not only lends their name and influence but also dedicates their time, talent and resources.
Past recipients of the Artist Humanitarian Award have included Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Randy Owen, Toby Keith, and Brad Paisley, among others.

Lawrence hand-delivered $10,000 to each of the following charities – Safe Haven, People Loving Nashville, Shower Up, The Laundry Stop, Brooks House and Open Table. Tracy Lawrence Raises Over $250,000 at 17th Annual Mission:Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music icon and philanthropist, Tracy Lawrence, hosted his 17th annual Mission:Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert in Nashville, Tenn. yesterday, Nov. 22. The day kicked off at the Nashville Fairgrounds with over 250 volunteers who helped fry a record-breaking 1,200 turkeys that will be distributed throughout Middle Tennessee, providing 9,600 meals to those in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. Following on that momentum, Lawrence was joined by Gary Allan, Travis Denning, Alexandra Kay and Halfway to Hazard for a sold-out benefit concert at Wildhorse Saloon that raised another record-breaking $250,000 towards Mission:Possible’s long-time partner, the Nashville Rescue Mission. The yearly event has now provided more than 73,000 meals to the homeless across Middle Tennessee and raised over $850,000 for Nashville Rescue Mission.
“Yesterday was an incredible day from start to finish,” Lawrence shared. “To step back and think about how this started as just a few friends and a dozen fryers in a parking lot — to what it is now — is truly incredible. There are so many people that go into this event and I’m just so grateful we can all come together and support this cause.”
The Turkey Fry kicked off bright and early at the Nashville Fairgrounds — its new location to accommodate the growing event — with Lawrence, joined by Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, dropping the first turkey into the fryer. Lawrence’s cause called upon star-studded helping hands including Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty, Nashville Mayor John Cooper, Phil Vassar, Deana Carter, Clint Black, Lee Greenwood and some of the evening’s performers including Kay, Denning and Halfway to Hazard. The charity event brought in dozens of industry members and the greater Nashville community to lend a hand in the massive undertaking.

Country music legend, Tracy Lawrence, releases his first original studio album in six years with the prideful, Made In America, available on all streaming and download services today. Get Tickets Now For Storming Heaven: The Musical

The West Virginia Public Theatre will host the first run of Storming Heaven: The Musical June 6th-16th and tickets are now on-sale HERE!

Tracy and Flip Anderson combined creative forces to write all the music for the show, which is based off Denise Giardina’s 1988 novel.

“Our story is about coal mining in Appalachia at the beginning of the 20th century and the struggles of the coal miners and their families. It centers on Carrie Bishop, the coal mine nurse, and a love triangle between her and her husband the mine preacher, and a Union organizer. During our story, Carrie discovers how to claim her power as a woman in a world and time when women, like minorities and immigrants, were second-class citizens and were told what to do and how to behave. It is set against the backdrop of the 1920’s Coal Wars of West Virginia where the disenfranchised workers – upon whose backs American industry and this country were built – struggle to fight for their basic human rights by unionizing. It culminates in the Battle of Blair Mountain between striking miners and mine owners, when President Warren G. Harding sent the National Guard to kill the Union’s efforts. It was the largest civil insurrection since the Civil War, and that lost battle successfully stopped United Mine Workers from fully forming for another three decades.”

Tracy Garners Second ACM Nomination For His Nationally Syndicated Radio Show “Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence”

Tracy is being recognized by The Academy of Country Music for his exemplary work on the weekly show “Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence” with his second nomination for “National On-Air Personality of the Year.”

“I am so honored by this nomination. When I first started hosting ‘Honky Tonkin’’ I really just wanted it to be something that all of my friends would feel comfortable being a part of, like having a conversation backstage or on the tour bus.  I wanted to give fans an inside look at the artists who created the music of the 90’s, which to me, is the best era of country music, not just because I was a part of it, but because so many great songs and entertainers came out of that time period,” says Tracy.

Produced by Patrick Thomas of Silverfish Media and distributed by Compass Media, “Honky Tonkin” is a bit different from other syndicated shows that focus on current trends in country music. The audience listens in to fun, thoughtful, and intimate conversations between Tracy and his friends and contemporaries from the late 80s, 90s, and the early 2000s, as they discuss what many consider the most celebrated time for country music. Lawrence also recently began a Podcast version of the show called “Honky Tonkin’ With Tracy Lawrence – The Interviews” which can be heard HERE.

“We just started our fifth year of Honky Tonkin’ and I am so proud of how great this show sounds each week.  Sure, the music is awesome, but Tracy is an amazing host.  He loves country music and he just wants to create an entertaining show and have a lot of fun,” says Patrick Thomas, Producer/President, Silverfish Media.

“When I heard Honky Tonkin’ was launching, I wanted to be on board right away. Z-Country 94.7 was the first affiliate.  Glad we were.  Listeners in Z-Nation tell us how great it is that we haven’t ‘forgotten about the roots of Country.’  Keep it up with the great music and guests, Tracy!” Randy Roadz, Program Director/Z-Country 94.7/Chelan/Douglas Counties, WA
“FUN! That’s what ‘Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence’ is all about. With great music, legendary guests and memorable stories, Tracy makes you feel special – like he is doing the show only for YOU!” Jonathan Shaffer, Program Director/The Legend, 650 AM WSM/Nashville, TN
“Honky Tonkin’ is fun to listen to with good content and great music. Tracy remains a strong country act and sells out every time he plays Baton Rouge!” Brian King, Program Director -100.7 The Tiger WTGE/Baton Rouge, LA

Mission:Possible Turkey Fry Reaches National Milestone Eclipses Over $500,000 Raised for the Homeless

For 13 consecutive years, Tracy has given back with his MISSION:POSSIBLE Turkey Fry & Concert, and 2018 was no exception. Lawrence was joined by Nashville music, sports and entertainment celebrities and a host of volunteers, who gathered in the parking lot of Nashville Rescue Mission on Tuesday November 20th to fry over 500 turkeys for the homeless of Middle Tennessee.

The day of cooking, preparing and delivering meals was followed by the Turkey Fry Concert that evening at The Wildhorse Saloon. The show, hosted by WSM-AM Radio/Grand Ole Opry® host Bill Cody, featured guests including EMI recording artist Eric Paslay, BMG/Chrysalis singer/songwriter Doug McCormick, Outlaw Country duo Halfway To Hazard, newcomer Bristyn Camp, and a very special surprise performance by Phil Vassar. Lawrence finished the evening with a stellar headline performance of some of his iconic hits and his new Christmas song, “Frozen In Time,” which is the title track of his new holiday album, for which a portion of the sales proceeds benefit MISSION:POSSIBLE.

“I’m so thankful to everyone who donated, volunteered or just helped spread the word about MISSION:POSSIBLE,” said Lawrence. Helping the homeless and hungry during the holiday season is very important, but my goal with MISSON:POSSIBLE is to assist with these needs year round.”

“This year’s Turkey Fry was another great success,” said Glenn Cranfield, president and CEO of Nashville Rescue Mission. “It’s a real blessing to be able to serve those in need a traditional Thanksgiving meal and this event goes a long way in making that possible. We are so grateful for the support we receive from Tracy, the sponsors, the volunteers, and everyone involved.”

As in the past, this event could not have been a success without the help and generosity of some wonderful sponsors including ABEC, Blue Rhino, Cargill, Civic Engineering, DCR, King Cooler Outdoor Cooking Products by Metal Fusion, LHC Group, LouAna Oils, W&W Logistics, Nelson Mazda, Renasant Bank, Richards & Southern, Southern Lawn & Equipment, Van Meter Insurance, Walmart, Wildhorse Saloon and WME.

The MISSON: POSSIBLE blueprint is spreading to other cities. The Dallas Life Mission celebrated their third turkey fry with tremendous growth this year. See new coverage of their event HERE. Having more than 100 volunteers and many sponsors to assist, over the last three years Dallas Life fried over 350 turkeys to serve over 2,000 meals for Thanksgiving and gave turkeys to police officers, firefighters and their families. As the largest homeless recovery center in North Texas, Dallas Life was proud to care for so many by taking part in their third annual MISSION:POSSIBLE Turkey Fry. “We are so grateful to the sponsors and volunteers who showed they care for the needy by taking part today! This is how we can give a hand up and not a hand out.” -Bob Sweeney, Executive Director, Dallas Life.   To make a donation to Dallas Life click HERE.

Louisville Rescue Mission held their second event and reported frying over 112 turkeys, since beginning their event two years ago, providing hundreds of meals for the underserved in their community.  Lawrence, who was in the market for a concert stop joined Executive Director Corey Bledsoe on Louisville’s WHAS-TV to talk about the event.  See coverage HERE.

“Our second annual Mission: Possible Turkey Fry was a huge success. We fried almost twice as many turkeys this year and expect to continue along that trajectory. It’s already becoming a true community event. From the donors to volunteers to our ministry partners who helped distribute turkeys, we served hundreds of families in the Louisville area. Mission: Possible is helping us not only provide for the tangible needs of the homeless, but raise awareness about the spiritual, psychological, and relational needs that exist longer after the holidays. Louisville is really catching on. We’re looking forward to next year!” said Cory Bledsoe, Executive Director of Re:Center Ministries.   Donations for Re:Center can be made HERE.

The MISSION:POSSIBLE Turkey Fry and Concert, has raised over $536,350.00 for Nashville’s homeless and hungry, with this year’s 13th annual event bringing in over $153,350.00 alone.  MISSION:POSSIBLE is poised to make an even larger impact in the future, as the 501 ( C ) (3) organization expands into more markets across the country with Louisville and Dallas raising in over $25,105.00 during their 2018 events, bringing the national total to $561,455.00.

When Tracy was planning his latest album Good Ole Days, which pairs some of his most iconic hits with some of today’s biggest new stars, he knew that he also had to capture his vision in a collection of memories in the form of a book. Tracy felt it was only fitting to donate the very first copy to The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. TRACY LAWRENCE TO RELEASE GOOD OLE DAYS

Tracy Lawrence has set November 10, 2017 as the release date for one of the most ambitious and significant albums of his career. GOOD OLE DAYS celebrates the country legend’s indelible mark on country traditionalism with an album of 11 duets pairing a selection of his most iconic hits with some of Country and Rock’s contemporary superstars and newcomers. See some behind the scenes footage HERE.

“There’s such a hunger out there for the music from my era – I hear that from so many people, so I felt like this was a good time to kind of blend the old and the new,” said Tracy. “My first commitment was from my buddy Tim McGraw, who chose to sing ‘Time Marches On,’ on the new record.”

The collaborative collection also includes guest appearances by Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Easton Corbin, Dustin Lynch, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Kellie Pickler and Chris Young. 3 Doors Down leader Brad Arnold makes his Country music debut on the title track “Good Ole Days,” which is the second of the two original songs.

When asked about which of his songs is his all-time favorite, Tracy admits that choosing one is a lot like trying to single out a favorite child, it’s just not something that’s easy to do.

However, he does mention that “Sticks and Stones” comes to mind. “I’ve got favorite songs for different reasons, but none of them would have happened without the first one, so “Sticks and Stones” is very special.”

The collection in its entirety is equally special, and Lawrence is humbled by the excitement that his peers brought to the studio with their eagerness to keep each track as pure as the day it was first recorded, with only minor exceptions and a few added new nuances. Lawrence is excited to offer the first instant grat track “Can’t Break It to My Heart,” the duet with country superstar Jason Aldean, as part of the album preorder which is available today HERE.

Craig Morgan lends his vocals and heartfelt raw emotion on “Finally Home,” one of the two new tracks and an ode to U.S. military members celebrating their enduring service to our country. Tracy and Craig debuted the song together in a performance on the hallowed stage of The Grand Ole Opry® on August 15.

A portion of the proceeds from “Finally Home” will be donated to Operation FINALLY HOME, a national, non-profit organization providing mortgage-free, custom-built homes to wounded, ill and injured veterans or widows of the fallen, thanks to their unique network of experienced builders, suppliers, and supporters dedicated to honoring heroes with homes.

Whether it is celebrating his iconic hits with fresh new tracks or writing material for his next studio record, Lawrence knows if he stopped today he’d already have cemented his place in the pantheon of country-music greats.

“To realize that I’m older now and being looked at by younger kids in the same light as I looked at guys like Strait and Haggard, it’s very flattering,” he notes. “To know that I’ve made music that’s had that kind of impact on people, well, it’s pretty cool.”

Tracy Lawrence Recruits Fellow Country Stars to Aid Nashville’s Hungry and Homeless

In the last three years alone, Tracy Lawrence has raised $120,000 for Nashville Rescue Mission with his annual Mission: Possible Turkey Fry. But for the country music star and nationally syndicated radio personality, that’s only the beginning. For the second year, Lawrence will double down on his 10-year-old Thanksgiving season tradition by hosting a star-studded benefit concert for the Mission, which aids the city’s hungry and homeless.

His second annual Tracy Lawrence Mission: Possible Charity Concert will take place Tuesday, November 22 at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon. It will feature performances from Lawrence and his country-star pals Big & Rich, Jerrod Niemann, Ben Rue and returning guests Halfway to Hazard, all donating their time and talent to the cause. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. and can be purchased at www.wildhorsesaloon.com. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Concert sponsorships are still available. For more information on sponsoring the event, please contact:[email protected]

Last year’s sold-out concert raised $63,000 for Nashville Rescue Mission. To accommodate many more fans this year, Lawrence selected the recently renovated Wildhorse Saloon as the show’s new venue.

The Turkey Fry itself is also growing this year. In conjunction with the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, rescue missions in Dallas, Louisville, Ky. and Asheville, N.C. are duplicating Lawrence’s popular event the week of Thanksgiving to raise awareness and serve their own local homeless communities. This year’s local Turkey Fry will be heldNovember 22 at Nashville Rescue Mission.

Earlier this year the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals honored Lawrence as its Philanthropist of the Year specifically for his work on behalf of Nashville Rescue Mission, recognizing him for making a large and positive contribution to the community. Funds raised by the singer at his annual event have helped provide more than 75,000 meals to those in need, and more than 5,000 turkeys have been fried and donated to the Mission.

The Turkey Fry is only part of Lawrence’s personal mission to help those in need. Last month, his Louisiana Flood Aid concert in Baton Rouge raised more than $15,000 for Samaritan’s Purse, a charity helping victims of recent flooding in the state. The money raised is being used to build and restore homes for families affected by the high waters.

Lawrence’s philanthropic efforts also include a partnership with Exclusive Genetics’ Bucking Bull Games that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The singer’s bull, named Honky Tonkin’ after his radio show, recently won $6,000, all earmarked for the hospital and will go on to raise more funds for the organization at the finals in Las Vegas October 31-November 4.

“Thanksgiving is such a special time of year for me and my family. A time to share and be thankful for all that God has blessed us with,” said Lawrence. “It’s also a very humbling time, knowing how much suffering and pain is going on in the world. It makes me treasure the opportunity that myself, my friends and my family have to give back to our community through the Nashville Rescue Mission. I will continue to be overwhelmed by the support and love that comes out to volunteer and donate to their fellow man during this week.”

“I’ve played some stuff out at the Bristol Speedway before but I’ve never really played anywhere here in Bristol proper so it’s a pretty unique experience and I’ve learned a lot about the Bristol community and how this is the birthplace of country music which I was not aware of,” Lawrence said.

The CMA songwriter’s series serves as a kickoff of sorts for this year’s 50th CMA awards.

Tracy Lawrence and a group of celebrity friends raised more than $63,000 for the Nashville Rescue Mission at the 10th Annual Mission: Possible Turkey Fry in November, continuing the country music star’s personal mission to help those in need.

“Growing up for me, having a good meal commemorating the Thanksgiving holiday meant more than just satisfying your appetite,” Lawrence said. “It signified a time to reflect, count our blessings and share what we’re thankful for, so to have an opportunity to feed those in our area while helping them feel that sense of pride for feeding their families, well there’s no better feeling. Over the years this event has grown, and every year I am even more thankful to those who come together to make this such a success.”

The “Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence” national syndicated radio host’s yearly event has provided more than 75,000 meals to those in need in its decade-long history. Members of Nashville’s music and sports communities also attended, including Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry, Terri Clark, Lee Greenwood and Jake Clayton, Tennessee Titans Coty Sensabaugh and Brian Arakpo along with the team’s cheerleaders, and the Nashville Predators mascot Gnash.

TRACY LAWRENCE RETURNS TO STORYTELLING ROOTS WITH SYNDICATED RADIO SHOW

As one of the most recognizable voices in country music history, it’s only appropriate that a man whose career was launched on a radio show, “Live at Libby’s,” returns to the studio for his own show. Tracy Lawrence is bringing his new syndicated radio show, Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence, to the “Air Castle of the South.”

Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence debuts at noon CDT Sunday, August 16 on Nashville’s legendary traditional country music outlet, WSM-AM. The three-hour show, produced by Silverfish and syndicated through Compass Media Networks, features hits from the 1980s, ‘90s and early 2000s, interviews and special guests, contests, prizes and audience interaction through calls and social media. Guests of the show have previously included Reba McEntire, John Anderson, and more.

“I’m so excited about WSM picking up my show,” Lawrence said. “It is such a huge thing for the show to be heard not only in Nashville but through all of our affiliates around the country. I started hosting ‘Honky Tonkin’’ in January with the desire to keep more of the traditional country sound alive with an emphasis on honky-tonk music. I feel that there is such a huge demand from the fans for this [type of programming], and with WSM picking up the show, it really validates that point. Let’s keep it country.”

The Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music award-winning artist has imprinted an indelible mark on the genre with nearly two dozen hits (including “Sticks and Stones,” “Alibis,” “Texas Tornado,” “Time Marches On,” “Paint Me A Birmingham,” and “Find Out Who Your Friends Are”), 13 million albums sold and many memorable shows, a legacy he shares through nearly 100 live appearances every year. Now, Lawrence brings a lifetime of stories and experiences to the radio.

“Tracy Lawrence is one of the core artists of our format who can genuinely reach out to his fans and constantly builds an audience that is loyal and true to him,” noted Dean Warfield, program director for 650 AM WSM.

Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence has been off to a fast start, securing play at more than 30 stations in its first six months of existence. Lawrence is on the road this summer making solo and festival appearances.
